MSD’s Boost Timing Master helps you avoid engine-killing, power-robbing detonation by retarding the ignition timing in relation to intake manifold pressure. It's a great way to safely and reliably get the maximum power and efficiency turbocharging and supercharging can create. Engineered specifically for those with a forced induction setups who don’t want to have to tune with a laptop, it incorporates an integral pressure sensor that can be easily connected to the intake manifold via a vacuum hose and features a dash-mounted control knob that lets you adjust the amount of timing retard right from the comfort and convenience of the driver’s seat. It can easily be adjusted from 0 to 3 degrees per pound of boost.

Fully compatible with most 4, 6, or 8 cylinder engines equipped with a distributor, MSD’s 6BTM Boost Timing Master can be triggered by points, electronic amplifiers, magnetic pickups, and even other aftermarket distributors. In addition to the boost timing retard feature, forced-induction engines will benefit from the powerful Capacitive Discharge (CD) Multi-Spark ignition contained within the 6BTM. A powerful series of sparks will improve starting ability, idle quality, and throttle response, and the increased spark energy will ensure maximum engine output under full boost. The Boost timing master also has a built-in over-rev protection and is supplied with plug-in RPM modules for 3,000 6,000 7,000, and 8,000 rpm. For maximum performance, use it in conjunction with a Blaster HVC II Coil (part number 8253).
